Hello all and Happy 2013!
We are back in the swing of things at 12 Houses Bellydance. Classes have resumed at the new location (1604 S. Washington, with the exception of Dec 9th – that day is off for students to contemplate their Bellydance Resolutions 🙂 and Natasha will be resuming at the Y on Tuesday the 8th.
Performing at the Grand Forks Celebrate the Night event was a huge success – we even made it in the paper! You can click on the image below to view the article in a new tab:
Coming up in February is even more goodness. You’ve heard us chat about the Bellydance Superstars coming to the Fargo/Moorhead area, well here’s where you can see us on their calendar and purchase tickets for our show at the Garage Bar Feb 12th – very exciting!
You can view photos of all the amazing dancers (including your own Lovely Dozen troupe and soloists Ana Ari, Aremi, and Saphira) performing on the 2013 Club Bellydance Tour HERE. We’re very excited to be part of what is sure to be an awesome show! You won’t want to miss it.
And last but not least, Registration has opened for our workshops with Saroya of Atlanta in May! Saroya was Natasha’s first Bellydance Instructor in Atlanta, GA, and we are beyond excited that she will be coming up here to join us to celebrate World Bellydance Day May 11th with a series of workshops and events running that entire weekend, from a meet and greet in Grand Forks Friday May 10th to a show the night of the 11th and possible ShimmyMob then or on the 12th. You can even take individual lessons with Saroya and pre-order custom hand-dyed silk veils for her Double Veil workshop on the 11th, which is sure to be a hit! We’ve created a separate Event Page from which you can register via Paypal, or you can get all the details and pre-register via email/snail-mail check on our Workshops and Hafla Page. More details will be posted as they become available. Early Bird registration prices will end March 31st, so get your name in early for this jam-packed weekend of events!
The last week of February we will be attending our favorite set of workshops that we attend as a troupe, Tribal Wonderland with Gaia Sophia in Pine River Minnesota. It’s a great opportunity to network with other dancers and share our art, two of the main reasons why we do what we do. It is still up in the air whether or not we will have a February Hafla (it may become a March one, or we’ll just wait until May), but as you can see, we’ll be anything but dormant. It’ll be nothing but shimmies from here to world Bellydance day – we hope you’ll come see us along the way!
