Feeling the Love!

Perhaps we’ve neglected the blog a bit – but winter is very much a hibernation time at Lovely Dozen Studios. Temps are rising and so are we! We’re prepping and planning and performing!

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching: don’t forget to give yourself some love too! The Souk is stocked with stones, candles, and incense (including a special Valentine’s blend from Astral Rose Grove) to surround yourself with love. How often do we really stop to do that? Put on your pretties! Turn up your favorite song and just let yourself be in the loving space you’ve created.

Feeling the Love!

Rose quartz and Aventurine are perfect for bringing in some loving vibes!

What’s your loving space look like? You can share it with us on Facebook and Instagram using #surroundwithlove  – we can’t wait to see!

Oh, and if you haven’t heard yet, registration is open for the Daughters of Atlas Festival in May. We also have a block of rooms reserved at the Red Roof Inn downtown for those coming from out of town. We’re thrilled to be bringing three lovely and talented dance instructors this year: Nadira Jamal, Mahin, and Hiba. We truly love this event and seeing it grow each year. But want to know the best part? You! We love getting to see our dance sisters and brothers gather together and share smiles, ideas, and art.

Workshop Weekend is HERE!

Ranya Promo Pic 2

That’s right! Our Weekend with Ranya Renee is finally here! We are excited to welcome our attendees tonight with a cozy hafla before kicking off the weekend-proper tomorrow with a 4-hour workshop. This weekend doesn’t kid around.

For our non-dancers, we’ve got something fun for you this weekend too! Our World Bellydance Stage Show will be Saturday Night, 7:30 pm, at the East Grand Forks PAC – advance tickets are on sale through tonight ($10/adults, $5/kids)  so snag ’em while you can – if not, tickets are also available at the door ($15/adults, 7.50/kids). And as always, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to the Community Violence Intervention Center.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Welcome 2015!

It’s hard to believe it’s already a new year, but here we are in 2015!  We’ve had lots go down already and more to come that we can’t wait to share with you all!

Our first day of New Year New You was a tremendous success – 6 wonderful ladies joined us to discuss body image and ways in which women hold and process their power internally.  The next step will be take all that power we cultivated and exercise the tools to unleash it outside ourselves – so look out world, hear us roar!

Outside the winter weather has been roaring as well.  Unfortunately its latest roar has meant we weren’t able to host the workshops with Amy Danielson we had planned for this weekend (the 10th), but we still managed to hold our Hafla in the new building, just down the hall with our friends at Shanti Ma’a!  Food, fellowship, and shimmies were had, but now we invite you to join us for a grand online unveiling: as of Sunday, January 11th: Registration for Ranya Renee is LIVE!  You can find more information about these impending Spring workshops HERE, but trust us – you’ll wanna be there for it!

If you’re thinking to yourself, “man I can’t wait until MAY to see the Lovely Dozen perform!”  you’re in luck! We’ll be performing this January 24th at the Empire Arts Center’s Backstage Project, 8pm.  Cash bar by Rhombus Guys, coffee by Urban Stampede, and LIVE music and dance by your resident rak stars themselves! Tickets just $5 at the door.

There’s more awesomeness where that came from, but we’ll leave it at that for now – 2015 is well underway and we’re beyond excited for all that’s in store! See you around!!
